Prepare chicken thighs for marinating - rinse and dry. Apply aromatic sour cream in a thick, even layer. Cover the dish with the bird. Leave on the kitchen counter while you work on the vegetables and rice.

Grate the carrots on a coarse grater or cut into thin strips. I like the second option better, because... Vegetable pieces retain their shape well after cooking in the oven. Fry until half cooked over medium heat.

Remove the carrots from the pan and fry the onion until translucent.

Place the roasted vegetables in the bottom of a baking sheet or rimmed ovenproof dish. Place rice cereal on top. Rinse it first, changing the water several times. Sprinkle with remaining salt. By the way, it is advisable to use steamed rather than polished cereals. This side dish will come out crumbly and beautiful.

Place the thighs in a single layer. Wash the garlic directly in its peel. Stick the unpeeled whole cloves into the rice in several places. So its taste and aroma will not be too intrusive, pleasant and appetizing. Pour in water or broth. The ratio of cereal to liquid is approximately 1 to 1.5. Cover the baking sheet with foil in several layers or put a heat-resistant bag (sleeve) on it, if dimensions allow. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes. Then remove the thighs with rice, remove the foil from the baking sheet. Put it back. Cook for about another quarter of an hour. If the rice seems a little dry, you can add more liquid at this stage.

When the dish is ready, mix the rice with vegetables. Serve everything together - thighs baked to a nice crust and rice with vegetables.

Chicken thighs in the oven with a crispy crust are easy to prepare, but their taste is excellent, so this meat dish can be safely placed even on a holiday table. Georgian seasoning, garlic, salt and ground pepper are used for the marinade. And in order for the chicken thighs to have a crispy crust after baking in the oven, they should be greased with a small amount of vegetable oil. Mayonnaise is not used for the marinade, so the thighs can be eaten by people who are on a diet, just remember to first remove that crispy and appetizing crust!

To prepare this dish, homemade broiler chicken or regular chicken is suitable, just not old, otherwise the meat will be tough and not tasty. Bake chicken thighs in an oven preheated to 190 0 C for no more than 45-60 minutes.

Ingredients for thighs:

  • 2 chicken thighs;
  • 3 grams of table rock salt;
  • 3 grams of ground pepper;
  • 7 grams of Georgian seasoning;
  • 1 clove of garlic;
  • 20 milliliters of vegetable oil (for 1 chicken thigh - 0.5 tablespoon of oil).

Cooking chicken thighs in the oven

Very well, but carefully so as not to remove the skin, wash the chicken thighs under running water. Pat them dry with a paper towel. Place in a food-grade plastic container or bowl. Salt and pepper the chicken thighs on both sides.


Peel a clove of garlic and squeeze through a garlic press. If you don’t have such a kitchen appliance, then just chop it finely. Distribute the garlic evenly over the meat, rubbing it in a little. Pour vegetable oil into a bowl, then using a special silicone brush, brush the meat well on both sides.


Generously coat the chicken thighs with Georgian seasoning or whatever you like best. Leave the chicken thighs to marinate for 20 minutes.


Then tear off a sheet of foil and grease it with vegetable oil. Add chicken thighs. Place the foil with the meat on a baking sheet. Place it in the oven for 45-60 minutes.


Set the temperature to 190 degrees. Serve crispy-skinned chicken thighs with your favorite side dish or tomato and cucumber salad.
