A DAY IN HISTORY

Today marks the 140th anniversary of the birth of the famous ballerina, teacher, founder of the theory of Russian classical ballet Agrippina Yakovlevna Vaganova.

A DAY IN HISTORY

On June 25 (June 13, O.S.), 1884, by decree of Alexander III, the "Rules for parish schools" were established

According to the "Rules", one-year (two-year) and two-year (four-year, from the beginning of the 20th century - three-year) parish schools were created. In classmates, they studied the Law of God, church singing, writing, arithmetic, and reading. In two-year schools, history was also studied.

The training was carried out by priests, deacons and clerks, as well as teachers and female teachers who graduated mainly from church teachers' schools and diocesan schools. The activities of schools were under the jurisdiction of the board of trustees, which included the head of the school, trustees, teachers, representatives from the city or zemstvo, elected officials from the population.

In the Yekaterinburg diocese, by the mid-1890s, 117 parish educational institutions, by 1900 their number had increased to 162 schools.

Since the beginning of the 20th century, state allocations for church schools have declined. The number of schools began to decrease. By the decision of the Provisional Government of June 20, 1917, almost all parish schools were transferred to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Public Education. After 1917, the parish school was completely liquidated by the resolution of the Council of People's Commissars dated December 24, 1917 "On the transfer of the affairs of upbringing and education from the spiritual department to the jurisdiction of the People's Commissariat for Education."

A DAY IN HISTORY

(12) On June 24, 1812, the army of the French emperor Napoleon I invaded Russia without declaring war. The Patriotic War of 1812 began.

There is a myth that Napoleon's invasion of Russia happened unexpectedly. The emperor was holding a ball, and all the courtiers were having fun. In fact, balls at all European monarchs of that time took place very often, and they did not depend on the events of politics, but, on the contrary, were an integral part of it. This was the unchanging tradition of the monarchist society. It was on them that public hearings were actually held on critical issues... However, it is worth noting that Alexander left the First Ball in Vilna and retired to St. Petersburg, where he stayed throughout the entire Patriotic War.

A significant contribution to the victory over Bonaparte's army was made not only by Kutuzov, but also by the Scottish general Mikhail Barclay de Tolly. Even 5 years before the start of the war, he drew up a military plan for the Russian tsar in case of an attack by the French.

Barclay de Tolly used the famous "Scythian tactics". The distance between the Neman and Moscow is enormous. No stocks of food, provisions for horses, drinking water The "Grand Army" turned into a huge prisoner of war camp, in which natural death was much higher than the losses from the fighting. The French did not expect the horror that Barclay de Tolly created for them: the peasants went into the forests, taking their livestock with them and burning food, the wells along the route of the army were poisoned, as a result of which periodic epidemics broke out in the French army. Horses and people fell from hunger, mass desertion began, but there was nowhere to run in unfamiliar terrain. In addition, peasant partisan detachments destroyed individual French groups of soldiers. The year of Napoleon's invasion of Russia is the year of an unprecedented patriotic upsurge of all Russian people who united to destroy the aggressor.

The collapse of Napoleon's empire began in 1812, when the French were defeated by the force of Russian arms.

The exhibition hall opened its doors to visitors in 2000; over the years of the site's existence, many exhibitions have been held here, which were attended by thousands of people. This is a cultural and educational center for the popularization of historical documents.

Leading federal archives and museums exhibit here unique historical and documentary exhibitions highlighting key events in the history of the Fatherland: “Orthodoxy and Russian state(X-XX centuries) "," Amid a noisy ball ... From the history of balls in Russia in the second half of the XIX - early XX centuries. "," The brilliant century of Catherine. To the 250th anniversary of his birth "," Emperor Paul I. The Exhibition Hall of Federal Archives is an integral part of the State Archives of Russia. This unit, opened with the aim of disseminating and popularizing knowledge about the main historical documents among the general public, appeared on Bolshaya Pirogovskaya Street in 2000.

The cultural and educational center for a relatively short period of its existence managed to turn into one of the most visited exhibition halls in the capital. It hosted a huge number of all kinds of exhibitions, which were visited by tens of thousands of Muscovites and guests of the capital. This is largely due to the fact that the exposition of the center presents unique documents, photographs, as well as video and film materials that are invariably of great interest to the public.

Currently, the exhibition hall hosts historical and documentary exhibitions, which were prepared with the assistance of a number of museums and archives in Russia.

Constant partners providing rare and sometimes even unique archives for exhibitions are the Hermitage, the Peterhof and Pavlovsk museum-reserve centers, as well as the archives of the FSB and the Ministry of Defense.
